Biography
I'm currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UNIPV, affiliated with the GENERIC project at the Center for Reasoning, Normativity and AI, where I'm working on formal models of generic reasoning and studying their applications to legal and moral reasoning, with a particular focus on AI governance.
Prior to this appointment, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UNIBO, Department of Legal Studies (2024-2025). My research focused on models of normative risk for AI systems. This work was part of a larger project on "Responsible AI" funded by the Italian Research Center on HPC, Big Data, and Quantum Computing. Before joining UNIBO, I was awarded an IRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at UCC, Philosophy Department (2022-2024). My project, "Proxy Agency in Law", explored the legal and moral implications of acting as a proxy in institutional action contexts. And previously, I held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Institute for Philosophical Research, UNAM (2021-2022), to carry out my project on "The Foundations of Institutional Agency".
In March 2021, I obtained a PhD in Law at the University of Glasgow. My thesis, "The Institutional Nature of Law: An Ontological Analysis", was co-supervised by Prof George Pavlakos (Law School) and Prof Stephan Leuenberger (Philosophy Department).
During my PhD studies, I assisted the Jurisprudence Convenor at the University of Glasgow as a GTA and undertook a research stay at the TINT, University of Helsinki, under the supervision of both the late Prof Emeritus Raimo Tuomela and Prof Pekka Mäkelä.
Before starting my PhD, I was a lecturer in Legal Logic at the Faculty of Law, UNAM, and finished an MPhil in Philosophy at the Philosophy Faculty, UNAM, under the supervision of Dr Juan Antonio Cruz Parcero.
During my MPhil, I undertook a research stay at the Philosophy of Law Department, University of Alicante. I was then supervised by Dr Manuel Atienza.
I did my BA in Law also at UNAM.
* I'm also an editor of the Journal of Social Ontology and a member of SORG, PHILAWSON, and the Law & Philosophy Network.
